Sponsorship & Promotions1

Dear Business Proprietor

You may be aware that the south east corridor of Perth has its own Community Radio Station 107.3HFM (the Station) formerly Heritage Radio, broadcasting from studios in Mills Road Gosnells.

We are writing to you today to offer a brief introduction to our station and to introduce you to our current sponsorships deals, which we feel are very competitive at this current time.

Who are we?

The core of the 90 members of Heritage FM Inc. are a group of about 30 dedicated and ambitious management, programming and announcing volunteers. We come from all walks of life and our common goal is to provide radio broadcast quality to a point where it can challenge the larger community stations.

What do we broadcast?

From Midnight to 5am we play all Australian music.  Our focus during the day is on 4 decades of great music from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, and from 6pm we start our speciality focus programs, Take Two(movies), Metal Shavings, Folk Plus / Under the Covers, Konnichiwa (Japanese content & Music), Bollywood, Revolution (Youth) Talkback, Just for a Giggle and more.. On the weekends we have our current affairs program, Coffee and the Form Guide, Shades of Blue, Saturday evenings with Jeremy and our popular Sunday spiritual programming and music smorgasbord.

There is still room for us to grow so we hope to hear from you if you have an idea.

Where do we broadcast?

The 107.3HFM broadcast area encompasses the City’s of Gosnells Armadale and Cockburn and the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, a catchment of approximately 200,000 souls. We understand that not all of them will listen to 107.3HFM however, we believe that an audience of 10% will get the message of any particular business to a significant audience.  The fact is that our listeners have advised us that we can be heard in many places across the metro area.  Sound waves travel!!

What is our challenge?

Due to storm damage and some subsequent vandalism, our tower and transmission hut were damaged and we have been working hard to restore our sound to pristine FM standard. Progress has been made and we should be back on track within the first half of this year. The broadcast quality on-line (www.heritagefm.org) has been mostly unaffected and has a faithful following.

How will we achieve our goal?

It all takes time, effort and money.  We have the volunteers, and new applications for membership are growing every day. However, we at 107.3HFM believe that the way forward is to make a sincere and best effort attempt to reengage the local community we serve connect with businesses and residents within our transmission area.

We want to encourage the residents to shop locally and to support businesses to promote locally. We have reviewed our schedule of air-time costs and have developed attractive packages, based on 2010 pricing to encourage local businesses to give us a go.  For the price of one cup of coffee per day 107.3hfm can provide you with X number of announcements between the hours of 6am and Midnight. This is a short time promotion which we hope will reinvigorate and re-establish networks between the community and 107.3hfm. This works with our vision mandate, to support the local community and will provide a financial support for us to progress to our goals.

As with all promotions of this kind, eventually the prices must change and it is likely that the station will be reviewing its schedule of fees in the next financial year. Now is the time to take advantage of our special “Welcome Back” rates.

In summing up..

Whilst the current management of the station accepts that all is still not as it could be, all of the members of its Committee of Management and two sub committees are determined to work hard to bring 107.3hfm back to the community. We welcome any support from the community, via volunteerism, membership, donations of daily necessities needed for the running of the station and we would also invite you and your business to be part of the rejuvenation of the community’s asset by offering you the opportunity of spreading the message of your business to the community here on-air.

The station has facilities for producing high quality promotions to suit your needs and we invite you to contact us if you would like further information. With our renewed focus on re-engaging the community if there has been a particular matter/incident that has prevented you and you business from being promoted by 107.3HFM in the past or if you have a particular need not covered in our packages, please contact xxxx on xxxx.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter, we look forward to being given the opportunity to promote your business.

Yours faithfully,

Ivan Miles

Chairman 107.3HFM
